Job Description

Seeking a Process-oriented Project Manager for a contract position for a 3+ month contract. There is the potential to convert to a client employee. This will be a hybrid role with 2-3 days onsite in San Diego (92121).

As a Project Manager, you will collaborate with the corporate planning leadership team and play a significant role in building and executing the governance model and continuous improvement roadmaps for key global processes that support our strategic execution and/or business scalability:
– Product Development Process (PDP)
– Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Prioritization, and Resource Allocation
– Operational Planning – linking Strategic Planning with Portfolio Management & Execution and Financial Planning
– Product Launch Process
– Corporate and Functional Goal-Setting and Reporting
* May partner with business and finance leaders on the development of business cases to support new projects or investment proposals
* Play a supporting role to the executive team, business unit leaders, and Strategic Planning leadership in assessing strategic path options and building related alternatives analyses
* May Facilitate the planning, preparation, and execution of Corporate Planning sessions
* Engage frequently with Program Core Teams on execution plans and status, ensuring interdependencies between programs/projects and corporate goals or strategic imperatives are properly understood, communicated, and managed within the project portfolio
* Manage individual projects as applicable
* Serve as liaison to IT function and other business groups for current or future systems projects related to corporate planning processes (e.g., PPM tools, etc.)

Skills & Experience:
* 6-8+ years of relevant professional experience
* High business acumen and understanding of strategic planning, portfolio management, operational planning, and program/project management
* Advanced communication skills and a high degree of comfort presenting to all levels in the organization, including frequently to the CEO / C-suite; Good expertise with common presentation mediums such as PowerPoint, Excel, or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau or similar)
* Sharp analytical skills and extensive familiarity working with planning data
* Ability to design effective business processes and their goals and objectives, inputs, workflows, outputs, and corresponding roles and responsibilities
* Ability to create and manage roadmaps for process continuous improvements
Life sciences or high-tech industry experience preferred
* Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business, engineering, or scientific discipline
