Job Description

We are seeking a BI/Reports Developer Consultant for our hi-tech manufacturing client based in San Jose, CA.

Role Overview:
• Remote Role to San Jose, CA. Must work Pacific Timezone hours.
• Rate: $75 – 90/hr W2. The offered compensation to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include (but are not limited to) the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
* Duration: This is a contract on a direct W2, now thru February 2024

The Report Developer will be one of the lead developers on the team and will play an integral part in the development of the client’s Snowflake cloud analytics environment. This includes requirement gathering, design and development of enterprise business intelligence and reporting using PowerBI. This position will partner with business end-users as well as colleagues in the Business Intelligence team to develop and implement collaborative solutions to data and analytics problems. The ideal candidate should have advanced PowerBI and SQL experience. This role reports directly to the Director of Engineering and Enterprise Reporting.

Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain complex PowerBI reports built for scalability, manageability, extensibility, performance, and re-use.
* Provide technical expertise in areas of architecture, design, and implementation
* Team with colleagues and stakeholders to create useful reports and dashboards that provide insight, improve/automate processes, or otherwise add value to the team
* Partner with the product team to understand the business requirements, translate them into technical design/requirements, and build scalable and sustainable enterprise reporting solutions
* Demonstrate through proof of concepts and present them to stakeholders
* Formulate and provide recommendations
* Support the team by teaching and promoting self-service BI
* Create conceptual and technical BI reporting documents
* Work through iterative review cycles to deliver results that meet or exceed user expectations.
* Ensure consistency by adhering to a set of software coding and style guides.
* Resolve support tickets related to PowerBI reports.

Requirements:
* 5+ years of Business Intelligence experience
* Advanced PowerBI skillset
* Snowflake experience
* Extensive background in SQL & Microsoft SQL Server
* Proven experience in developing and optimizing PowerBI reports and dashboards
* Ability to query and display large data sets
* Ability to interpret technical or dashboard structure and translate complex business requirements to technical specifications
* Working knowledge of PowerBI administration
* High-level competency in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.)
* A solid understanding of data modeling, and normalization
* Strong communication skills
* Attention to detail and accuracy
* Experienced in Agile development
* PowerBI certifications a plus
