Job Description

Role Overview
We’re seeking a skilled Teradata Database Administrator (DBA) to support our Enterprise Data Warehouse and critical infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to apply expertise in database administration, performance tuning, and optimization in a fast-paced environment.

Details
* Duration: 3 months
* Start Date: October 2025
* Location: Remote (U.S. based)
* Pay Rate: The expected compensation starts at $70.00/hr W2 plus benefits, higher DOE. The offered compensation to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include (but are not limited to) the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.

Qualifications
* 3–12 years of Teradata DBA experience
* Strong expertise in performance tuning and query optimization
* Proficiency in UNIX, SQL, and scripting (Python preferred)
* Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) and ETL/DI/BI troubleshooting
* Strong understanding of data warehousing, normalization, and de-normalization
* Familiarity with ticketing systems and production change processes
* Excellent communication skills

Key Responsibilities
* Performance & Optimization: Monitor system performance with Viewpoint/PDCR, optimize queries, indexes, statistics, and compression strategies, and provide tuning recommendations.
* Workload & Capacity Management: Use TASM (Teradata Active System Management) and workload balancing to manage resources, support capacity planning, and collaborate on system updates.
* Database Administration: Manage users, roles, profiles, access rights, and disk space; coordinate across production, QA, and test environments; maintain version control and change management.
* Operational Support: Provide daily support for the Enterprise Data Warehouse, participate in on-call rotation, troubleshoot ETL/BI tools (FastLoad, MultiLoad, BTEQ, TPump), automate processes, and support production changes.
